- Completely free, no payment card
- Excel files you work on as you would at work
- Instant checking by the finance engine

How it works
How the simulation works
Daily finance work at one company that you follow month after month.
A virtual Saudi company
A small company with its own books, staff and customers, and you work in its finance department.
Each workday is a month
When you end the workday, the finance engine simulates a whole month of the company's life.
Tasks arrive in your inbox
Tasks reach you as messages from your colleagues and from the people the company deals with. Many come with an Excel file you download and work on, then you upload the answers sheet or enter the figures on the task's page.
Figures and memos
You work out the figures and write short memos that explain your view, and from the Finance Manager role you also make the decision.
The engine checks, and the company responds
The finance engine checks every figure. The return you prepare is filed at the amount you entered, so if it is below the correct figure, ZATCA assesses the difference and imposes its penalties, and the accuracy of your month-end close raises or lowers the board of directors' confidence.
Step by step
Career ladder
Accountant → Head of General Accounting → Finance Manager → Chief Financial Officer
- Role 1You start here
Accountant
You prepare the entries, reconciliations and returns yourself, and submit them to the Chief Accountant.
- Role 2
Head of General Accounting
You review the accountant's work and write your findings before approval.
- Role 3
Finance Manager
You review and approve your team's work, and decide on financing and the budget.
- Role 4Coming soon
Chief Financial Officer
You lead finance at a larger company.
You are promoted when you meet the criteria of your role, not as time passes. If you have experience, you can choose to start at a higher role when you create your company.
Choose your field
Line of business
You choose your company's line of business at the start, and it stays with the company for its whole life.
Premium food products
A Riyadh dates and hospitality trader: sells to hotels and distributors on credit and to consumers through its online store. Ramadan doubles demand.
Technology distribution
A distributor of devices, networking and point-of-sale equipment: sells to businesses on credit and to consumers through its store. Demand peaks at National Day and at the year end.
Financial & accounting services
An accounting services and financial advisory firm: monthly contracts with businesses, and no inventory.
Under the rules in force
Saudi rules
The rates and deadlines the finance engine calculates with, taken from Saudi rules with some simplification. Check the official sources before you rely on them in real work.
Value added tax (VAT)
At 15%, due on the last day of the month after the tax period ends (for both the return and the payment).
Zakat
At 2.5% for a Hijri year; a Gregorian financial year's rate follows its days: 2.5777% for a 365-day year and 2.5847% for a 366-day leap year. The return is filed and paid within 120 days of the end of the financial year.
Social insurance (GOSI)
Each month's contributions are paid within the first 15 days of the following month, on wages capped at SAR 45,000.
Wage Protection System (WPS)
The monthly wage file is uploaded to Mudad within 30 days of the end of the wage month.
Statutory calendar
The financial statements are filed on the Qawaem platform within 6 months of the end of the financial year, and the annual general assembly of partners meets within 6 months of the year end.
Your team at the company
Who you work with
They reply to you in conversations. Every figure always comes from the finance engine, never from the AI.
Khalid Al-Otaibi
Chief Executive Officer
Follows the company's performance and results. Below the Finance Manager role he refers you to the Chief Accountant for the details of the work; from the Finance Manager role he asks you about the figures and the effect of your decisions.
Sara Al-Qahtani
Chief Accountant
Knows the books in detail: she assigns you work and reviews it, or passes you what her team has prepared, depending on your role.
The Senior CFO
Mentor
An independent mentor who asks you questions until you find the method yourself, and does not give you the answer while you are working on a task.
What stays with you
Learning and review
Concept cards
They explain a concept when you meet it in a task, and stay saved in the learning log.
Weekly review
A summary of the week's performance, mistakes and decisions, with a short quiz.
Experience portfolio
What you have achieved, with its figures from the company's data, to print, save as a PDF or download as Markdown.
Before you start
- The training is free: no fees, no subscriptions and no advertising.
- The AI features have a monthly allowance. Once it is used up, texts are written in automatic wording, and the figures are assessed exactly as before.
- The company and the characters are fictional, and the site is training, not accounting or tax advice.
- What we keep about you and what is sent to the AI provider are in the privacy notice, and what is allowed on the site is in the terms of use.
